Styling props at home is waay easier than you might think. All it takes is a little bit of inspo, balance and trialling!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m laying out my best tips so that you can get the most out of styling and photographing your products at home!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Don\u2019t go overboard <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You want the product you\u2019re selling or promoting to be the main feature – so make sure it stays that way. I like to start with the main product in the middle of my layout, then adding to the look bit by bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t be afraid to take shots as you add or take away items, and try adding \u2018too much\u2019 and \u2018too little\u2019, so you can strike that perfect balance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Rules of 3 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using the rule of thirds will be a game changer! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine a grid split into thirds. Place your product in the centre, then start by adding in two props in the other two thirds. See how that looks, take a few snaps, then try adding some more in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember you can always add, you can\u2019t take away from the finished photos (unless you\u2019re real good at editing!). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Make it relevant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of my favourite styling tips is to use props related to the main product. For example, if you\u2019re a cake maker photographing your baked creation, using kitchen items around it to style the layout. Get creative and try a few different things, like throwing some sprinkles around or dripping honey into the shot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t be afraid to get messy and try a load of different styling options and props! You\u2019ll be surprised at what you can pull off by trying something out of the norm! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Inspo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all know exactly where to go when we need inspiration for something\u2026 Pinterest of course! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re struggling for ideas, creating a Pinterest board can really spark some inspo. Obv I\u2019d never suggest copying ideas, but seeing how other creators have styled their products can really help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Use your brand<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incorporating your brand colours works wonders for making your pictures cohesive. Whether you make it bold and obvious by making it your background colour, or more subtle with little pops of your brand colours\u2026 Small details can make such a huge difference when several of your photos are displayed on something like an Instagram grid. Consistency foreverrrr. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
